Park Nightclub has provided entertainment and support for the GLBTQ community since 1980
Metropolitan Community Church of the Blue Ridge began in 1986 with 20 people
affirming the GLBTQ community
Roanoke Pride began 1989 providing the GLBTQ community with quality events and activities known as Pride
September 22, 2000 The Backstreet Shootings carried out by Ronald Gay killing Danny Overstreet and wounding several others at the BackStreet Cafe in Downtown Roanoke
