On July 1, 2004 the Virginia Marriage Affirmation Act became law.  In addition to prohibiting the recognition of same-sex marriages and civil unions, this legislation threatens to overturn private contractual relationships between gay and lesbian couples.

November 7, 2006 ~ Virginians overwhelmingly agreed Tuesday to make same-sex marriage and civil unions unconstitutional.


On Sunday July 1, 2007, members of our community who are ill or injured will be able to rest a little more comfortably knowing that they will have their loved ones beside them if they have to go into a hospital.  That's the day legislation that allows all Virginians the right to decide who can visit them in the hospital goes into effect.
